BEA Customers Face Scheduled TVA Outage September 19-20

UPDATE 9/14/26: Planned outage has been canceled.

TVA has requested a scheduled outage for the weekend of September 19 and 20. This scheduled outage is required for TVA to install new conductor along 2 routes of the 161 kV transmission system. The scheduled outage time will begin at midnight and last until 6 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This scheduled outage is weather dependent.

Areas Affected

The BEA consumers that are scheduled to be without power are as follows:

Toone Substation Service Area
This will be all BEA consumers that are north of the Hatchie River to the Madison County line. Areas included are Toone, Cloverport, Silerton, Highway 18 N, and Highway 125 N.

Powell Chapel Substation Service Area
This will be all BEA consumers that are east of the Hatchie River to the McNairy County line. Areas included are Hornsby, north of Hornsby, and Powell Chapel Road area.

City of Bolivar Service Area
Some consumers will experience an outage while other consumers can be served from other substations. The areas expected to be without power are downtown Bolivar, Stevens Road and Country Club area.

West Bolivar area including Old Highway 64, new Highway 64, and Vildo Road.

Streets near the Bolivar Central High School and Bolivar Elementary School, Tate Road, and east Bolivar area. Also, along Highway 18 S towards Hickory Valley. This is not intended to be an all inclusive list but just general areas.

Work and Line Retirement
BEA personnel will be working during this outage to perform maintenance work and also line retirement work. This work will take place at substation(s) and in town along Highway 64 near TSC.
