John Doolen Sworn in As Moscow Chief of Police

Moscow Mayor Kristopher Tims swore in John Dololen as the new Moscow Chief of Police.

Former Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen was sworn in on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as the new City of Moscow, Tennessee Chief of Police. Moscow Mayor Kristopher Tims led an informal ceremony, minus him reading the “repeat after me”. Once Doolen stated the oath of office, Moscow had a brand new chief of police.

Chief Doolen shared his plans as he begins his new position.

“I think our main goal is to get policies and procedure in place, get the right people in place, and start protecting the city of Moscow,” said Moscow Police Chief Doolen.
