BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.: The City of Brownsville is pleased to announce Devon Parks as the new Director of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. Parks assumed responsibilities on October 1, 2026, bringing five years of experience at the Center and a strong connection to the community she has called home for more than three decades.

Parks previously served as the Center’s Operations Manager and Group Sales and Guest Relations Coordinator. Her work welcoming visitors, coordinating group visits and supporting daily operations has prepared her to lead a destination that introduces travelers to Brownsville, Haywood County and West Tennessee’s cultural heritage.

“The Delta Heritage Center is often the first welcome visitors receive when they arrive in our community,” said Brownsville Mayor William D. Rawls Jr. “Devon has spent the past five years helping make that welcome a memorable one. We are proud to have her lead the Center and confident she will continue sharing the history, music and hospitality that make Brownsville and Haywood County special.”

A native of Marion County, Tennessee, near Chattanooga, Parks has called Brownsville home for 31 years. Before joining the Center, she spent more than 13 years with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a Transportation Technician and later worked as a Logistics and Human Resources Assistant for CKS Packaging in Brownsville.

“It’s an honor to take on this role,” said Parks. “We have a great staff at the Center and I look forward to working with them and the community to share the stories of our region and make every guest feel welcome.”

“I am so excited to see Devon step into this role,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, outgoing Center director. “With five years of experience here, she understands our visitors, our community and what makes this place special. She is the perfect person to continue our tradition of hospitality and carry forward the Center’s role as the front door of Haywood County. I look forward to seeing her make this role her own.”

Outlaw-Clark will continue serving the community as tourism director and remain connected to the Center as a volunteer and advisor.

Operated by the City of Brownsville, the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center celebrates the region’s music, history and natural heritage. Its campus includes the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School, the Sleepy John Estes Home and exhibits exploring West Tennessee music, cotton and the Hatchie River.
