Ladies Day at Porters Creek Baptist Church in Middleton was a morning of encouragement in faith and a bit of humor on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with keynote speaker Susannah B. Lewis. She was the keynote speaker for Ladies Day at Porters Creek in April 2024. Although Lewis has the titles of author, podcaster, and humorist behind her name, she shared relatable experiences with the women who attended the program.
“Susannah spoke about the different seasons of life and how we can see God at work in each of them, even during seasons of waiting,” said Ladies Ministry Director Corrie Keltner. “She reminded the ladies that God is always working, even when we may not immediately see what He is doing.”
The Ladies Day program at Porters Creek is always highly anticipated. The event is free, leaving no obstacles for women to come ready to be blessed by the message and enjoy a delicious lunch afterwards.
“We received some wonderful feedback from the ladies who attended. Several shared how meaningful and encouraging the message was and how much they enjoyed hearing Susannah speak,” said Keltner. “We also heard plenty of compliments about the food, which is always a good thing at a Baptist gathering!”
With the focus being on women for the day, the men of the church stepped up and served, filling in wherever needed.
“We are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make this event possible. It takes a lot of willing hands and servant hearts to put together a day like this,” said Keltner. “We especially appreciate the men who stepped up to serve so the ladies could simply enjoy the day. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement, and we’re grateful that Porters Creek Baptist Church could host it.”
Ladies Day is a special program for the Porters Creek Ladies Ministry. A lot of planning goes on behind the scenes before the day of the event. Although the desire is for everything to be perfect, the real desire for the ministry is for the women who attend to be blessed by the experience.
“Our hope is that these events provide ladies with an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, enjoy fellowship with one another, and be spiritually refreshed. We want every woman who attends to leave feeling encouraged, strengthened in her walk with the Lord, and reminded that she is not alone in whatever season of life she may be facing,” said Keltner.
