The rain was not enough to halt the Fall Bazaar, which was held at the Lafayette Gin in Grand Junction on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event, usually held in November as the Holiday Bazaar, gave people an opportunity to shop earlier to find those special gift items and something special for themselves.

There were about 20 vendors selling metal worked signs, crafts, handmade dolls, jams and jellies, fried pies, lemonade, handmade leather wallets, keychains, belts, tie-dyed clothing, face painting, CBD, Tupperware, Mary Kay, and Twisted Scent Candles.

Along with vendors to shop, a special highlight of the Fall Bazaar was a chance to see the progress made on the Grand Junction Depot, which has been undergoing renovations.
“The depot board wanted to do an open house at some point, so we thought because I was already planning the bazaar, it would be a great time to show off the progress,” said Jonathan Harris, who also organizes the Grand Junction Farmers Market. “In conjunction with the bazaar, we held an open house for the Grand Junction Depot, the last remaining train depot in Hardeman County. People could come check out the bazaar and receive a ‘ticket’ to tour the depot and check out the progress we have made on renovations.”

Another treat for visitors was live music performed by The Holy Smokes Duo from Ripley, Mississippi.
“I enjoyed the music by The Holy Smokes Duo. They were fantastic,” said Harris, who loved coordinating the event and was pleased with the outcome. “This year’s Fall Bazaar went great! The rain did dampen the crowds a little, but I feel like we offered a nice variety of products to patrons of all interests. It was really fun putting this show together, building an experience from nothing, for other people to enjoy.”

Based on the response from vendors and attendees, Harris shared there will potentially be another bazaar held in spring 2027.
“It’s really nice to see family, friends, and communities come out to support the vendors, and people coming together to support each other,” said Harris.
The next community event in the City of Grand Junction will be its Trunk or Treat at City Park on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a chili cookoff and best decorated tent/truck/booth.
