On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in a basketball game against Liberty Tech High School, Kealan Polk reached a 1,000-point milestone as a Bolivar Central High School Tiger. When you come from a legacy of basketball players, great feats like that are expected. Regardless of those family members who came before him, it was all about Kealan and one night he will always remember.

“It’s something that hasn’t been done in four years, so it feels very special to me,” said Kealan.

Kealan, a high school senior, started playing basketball at the Bolivar city gym when he was six years old. Several people in Kealan’s life have played a big role in his development as a basketball player.

“My mom and my stepdad, coach Petie, and my teammates have supported me. Everyone believes in me and knows they can depend on me in any moment. I put the team goals first and everything else just falls in place,” said Kealan, who shared what he loves about the sport. “Just being around my teammates every day and getting better.”

When Kealan looks back on the journey to completing 1,000 points, some of those memories that stand out include games against Haywood High School and Fayette Ware High School. Although achieving 1,000 points is a great accomplishment, Kealan has his eyes set higher.

“I want us to be district champs, region champs, win sub state, and win the state championship,” said Kealan who shared fans should stay tuned for more exciting highlights this season.

So, I guess that is what we will do.

Congratulations to Kealan Polk for becoming a member of the 1,000-point club!

And, of course, we have to mention the legacy of basketball players from which he comes. That includes his brother, Kylan McNeal; mother, Heather Hopkins; uncle, Devon Lake; and cousin, Tionne Herron.
