The Tennessee Forest Festival had several exciting events each day with one being the 5K run/walk held at Pleasant Run Creek Park and another the demolition derby, which was held at the Hardeman County AgriBusiness Center. Spectators enjoyed the crashing action of the demolition derby from the bleachers while contestants competed for big money prizes awarded to the driver whose vehicle could “hang in there” the longest and hopefully not sustain too much damage. Austin Collins, 1st Place; Eli Stuphin, 2nd Place; and Mark Crowe, 3rd Place were the winners of the Tennessee Forest Festival Derby.

The demolition derby involves the crashing of old cars into each other until only one remains operational. If you are a driver, it is a great way to vent frustration. If you are watching from the stands, the exhilaration can be felt imagining doing the same in commuter traffic without any repercussions.

Congratulations to Austin who won $2,450; Eli who won $1,470; and Mark who won $980. They may have just enough money to use for getting repairs done on their cars.
