The Hardeman County Highway Department issued notice that a bridge closure at Sain Road over Branch, just before Oakview Loop Road will be closed after a Tennessee Department of Transportation report revealed issues with the structure. At this time, the length of the closure is undetermined.
According to Hardeman County Highway Superintendent Casey Swift, the area is a State Aid Route, so he plans to use State Aid funds to rebuild the bridge to a fully concrete structure.
“I would expect travel detours up to possibly one year. I am sorry for the inconvenience and am working with the state to hurry this along,” said Swift.
The road will be closed on Thursday October 1, 2026. Detours will include Sain Road to Burnett Mills Road and Cliff Road to Highway 18 South. If you have questions, call (731) 658-5102 for more information.
