The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) promoted three of its officers and introduced another within its agency during a ceremony that was held on Monday, September 21, 2026. The announcement was made as the officers were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and leadership in law enforcement.
Correctional Officer Samantha Choquette was promoted to facility security officer. Facility Security Officer Ashley Jones was promoted to jail lieutenant.
Patrol Lieutenant Brian Vandiver was promoted to operations captain.

Officer James Powell, recently hired by the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office, was introduced as its newest patrol lieutenant.

“These promotions and appointments represent the trust, dedication, experience, and commitment these individuals bring to our agency. Each will play an important role in continuing to strengthen the Sheriff’s Office and providing professional service to the citizens of Hardeman County,” shared the HCSO in a recent Facebook post.
