Saulsbury playwright and director Lottie Kimbrough is bringing Last Chance for Love, her latest production, to the stage on Saturday, November 2, 2026, for two performances. Love, as with all of Kimbrough’s productions, is the resonating theme throughout the play. Featuring 13 characters, Last Chance for Love will take the audience through the humor and complexities in the relationships of three couples.

“Like my previous work, this play centers on the theme of love as does the title of the play. As a writer, there are so many creative ways to freely write a storyline about love. The word love generates a variety of directions that make writing easy to produce a storyline that will hopefully interest and captivate an audience,” said Kimbrough.

Kimbrough has been successful in writing and directing plays under the Kimbrough Theatre Production company, which have met her goal of captivating audiences as her shows are well attended by the fans who have followed her over the years. Although the love theme unintentionally became a series of plays for her, it has opened up a world of scenarios that are endless.

“Love is so easy to write about. There are so many versions of love that can be developed into the framework of a play,” said Kimbrough. “Last Chance for Love follows three couples as they navigate the humorous and complex challenges of understanding the depth of love in real-life relationships.  One couple’s love is tested because of past hurt, another deals with misinformation, and the last couple contend with hidden secrets.”

It took Kimbrough approximately three months to write Last Chance for Love. Writing this show was a bit easier for Kimbrough who has many returning cast members playing characters. Her actors come from across the region, including Midtown Memphis and Bartlett, Tennessee; Southaven, Mississippi; and seven who reside in Hardeman County. Six cast members have been with and starred in all Kimbrough Theatre Production since the company was formed.

“Writing for our longtime cast members was seamless, and integrating the new cast member’s role to naturally connect with the ensemble was a rewarding challenge,” said Kimbrough. “Once he settled into the character and embraced his role, the script and production came together quickly.”
