Hardeman County NAACP Youth Advisor/Mentor Wanda Robinson was recognized by the 80th Annual State Convention Tennessee State Conference NAACP as Youth Council Advisor/Mentor of the Year. Robinson was presented the award during at a banquet for the convention, which was held September 24 – 26, 2026, in Memphis. It was an unexpected recognition, but well deserved by a woman who has served as an advisor and mentor to Hardeman County youth for many years.

“I really enjoy working with our youth, because we need leaders, future leaders, we need to pass the torch. They really motivate me and we want to teach them about our history civil rights, human rights, voting because we had people to die so we have a right to vote,” Robinson previously shared.

The Hardeman County NAACP Youth Council meets the first Sunday of every month. The next meeting will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, 2 p.m. at 114 West Market Street in Bolivar.
