Hardeman County District-Wide Spelling Bee Rescheduled for February

The annual Hardeman County District-Wide Spelling Bee, originally scheduled for January 26, 2026, has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. Students participating in the Spelling Bee now have one more week to learn Greek and Latin roots, suffixes, and prefixes, and their meanings before the contest, which will be held on Monday, February 2. By that day, spellers will be even more prepared and ready to take the stage to spell any word thrown at them.

Students from Bolivar Elementary School, Bolivar Middle School, Grand Junction Elementary School, Hornsby Elementary School, Middleton Elementary School, Middleton High School, Toone Elementary School, and Whiteville Elementary School will spell in best form until the last person is standing and named the winner.

One major difference about the Hardeman County District-Wide Spelling Bee from the bees, which were held at the schools is all participants will compete as individuals for the county title. So, it does not matter how they placed at their respective school, each student has the opportunity to go home as the district winner.

There will be several participants this year who competed previously in the district spelling bee after winning at their school. Although they will proudly represent their school, all students will compete for themselves. Bolivar Middle School students Hanan Alnamrani won 1st Place in 2023 and 2024 and Q’zaria Robertson won 2nd Place in 2024. Q’zaria also won 1st Place as a Bolivar Elementary School student in 2022. Hornsby Elementary School students Charli Allgyer-Parker won 4th Place in 2024 and Noah Knievel won 3rd Place in 2024. Middleton Elementary School student Dallas Mott won 1st Place in 2024.

Bolivar Central High School will host the Hardeman County District-Wide Spelling Bee, which will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 6 p.m.
