On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department shared on its Facebook page that a jury duty scam has resurfaced. The last time the department noted that happening was in June 2024.
” . . . Someone, posing as a Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office employee, is calling and claiming that money is owed to the Sheriff’s Office for not reporting for jury duty. They claim that if you do not pay the money, then further action will be taken.”
In the post, it was noted the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department does not call to collect money. People were also warned to not send the scammers any money. If you are a Hardeman County resident who received a call and sent money, you are encouraged contact the 911 Dispatch at (731) 658-1902 to file a report.
