TDOT Road Construction in Hardeman and Fayette Counties: September 2 – 9

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is completing roadwork in Hardeman County and Fayette County from September 2 – 9, 2026. The work may cause delays for citizens. All lane-closure activities on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day Weekend travel period will be halted. Construction crews will stop all lane-closure activity beginning at noon on Friday, September 4, 2026, and ending at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Hardeman County

SR100 from near SR18 to near Firetower Road
The resurfacing on SR100 from near SR18 to near Firetower Road will cause temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will remain open at all times. Motorists should watch for the crew and equipment in the roadway.

SR138 between SR100 and the Madison County line
Monday, August 31, through Thursday, September 3, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: SR138 in Hardeman County will have temporary intermittent full closures between SR100 and the Madison County line for cross-drain replacements. A detour will be posted, and message boards will provide adequate warning of the closures.

SR125 between SR18 and the Chester County line
Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: SR125 in Hardeman County will have temporary intermittent full closures between SR18 and the Chester County line for cross drain replacements. A detour will be posted, and message boards will provide adequate warning of the closures.

Fayette County

I-40 Westbound from MM35 to MM34
Wednesday, September 9, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be a lane closure at night on I-40 in Fayette County westbound between MM35 to MM34 to attach ITS Conduit under the bridge.

I-269 (SR-385) from near SR-86 (U.S. 72) to SR-193 (Macon Road):
Nightly, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations. At least one lane will remain open in both directions at all times. Excluding Friday, September 4th, from 12:00 noon until Tuesday, September 8th, at 6:00 AM due to Labor Day.

SR-15 (U.S. 64) from near Tomlin Road to near Woodbridge Road:
Daily: There will be temporary lane closures on east and westbound SR-15 from near Tomlin Road to near Woodbridge Road to perform resurfacing work. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
