By Day a Business Professional, By Night a Musician: Meet Collin Maybury

Collin Maybury is a full-time business professional by day and an aspiring musician by night. You will find him running Maybury Landscapes and Home Improvements providing professional landscaping and masonry services, which he has been doing for four years. When the opportunity arises for him to perform musically, he never misses a moment to move closer to his dream of making it a second career.

“I plan to take music to the next level and take every opportunity the Lord gives me,” said Collin, who has been performing for several years. “I’ve played for seven years. My main instrument is six-string guitar.”

Collin grew up in Hardeman County, spending most of his childhood in Toone. He graduated from Bolivar Central High School with the Class of 2025. Over the years, Collin had the opportunity to perform in high school and later, he received requests from restaurants. He has performed at Livingston’s Soda Fountain & Grill in Brownsville, the Lakehouse in Grand Valley Lakes, and Simon’s in Bolivar where he will again perform this weekend.

“I perform covers but am working on writing my own music,” said Collin, who shared he is musically influenced by Zach Top and Kieth Whitley.  “I perform old country to mid-2000s country with a little rock. When I perform, you can expect to have a great time and experience the old days again.”

Collin has been able to pursue both passions, growing his business and singing music. Although he genuinely enjoys playing music and creating new friendships through that experience, Collin has no intention of quitting his day-job. His business success continues with him being a vendor for Madison County.

“I do always plan on keeping my business no matter where the music takes me,” said Collin.

Collin will go where the Lord takes him for his music career.

When not working landscapes or singing, Collin finds time to break away from it all and spends time with his girlfriend, as well as golfing and taking his boat out on the river.

You can catch Collin Maybury performing on Saturday, September 12, at Simon’s { 201 North main Street, Bolivar, 38008 } from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
