SEPTEMBER EVENTS
September 1 – Every Kid Outdoors registration opens.
September 3 – Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) and the Fayette County Health Council are holding a Suicide Awareness Walk at Buckley Carpenter Elementary School { 12580 South Main Street, Somerville, 38068 } at 5 p.m. Community resources will be available and there will be giveaways.
September 5 – Go Cat Go Rock ‘N’ Roll Charity Car Show will be held at Living Hope Church { 345 Keough Drive Piperton, 38017 }.
September 7, 14, 21, and 28 – Cub Scouts meeting for boys will be held at Oakland First Baptist Church { 8695 U.S. Highway 64, Oakland, 38060 } at 6 p.m. for ages kindergarten through fifth grade.
September 12 – Fayette County Cotton Festival will be held on the Historic Somerville Square ( 120 East Court Square, Somerville, 38068 }

September 24 – Deadline to apply for the 64th annual United States Senate Youth Program.
September 26 – 6th Annual Thunder Over Fayette County Airshow will be held at the Fayette County Airport { 1075 Airport Road, Somerville, 38068 } at 1 p.m. The Tuskegee Airmen are expected to be in attendance. Get your tickets.

FAIR THEATER
Tickets are now on sale for And Then There Were None, which will be presented by the Somerville Theatrical Art Repertory (STAR), Inc. at the Fair Theater { 114 East Market Street, Somerville, 38068 }, October 1 – 4, 2026. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, at 7 pm. and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
SCHOOLS/EDUCATION
September 1 – TN Direct Admissions students will start receiving letters.
September 3 – FCPS board meeting will be held at the Board of Education office { 104255 Highway 76, Somerville, 38068 } at 6 p.m. Catch up by watching the August 2026 meeting.
September 10 – FCPS Parent Literacy Night will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at all schools.
September 10 – FCPS Parent Information and Listening Sessions will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at all schools.

SPORTS/RECREATION

MUSEUMS AND PARKS
