Isiah Hunt has lived in Grand Junction, Tennessee his entire life and he loves the city. It only seemed natural for him to run for mayor, hoping to fill the position where he believes he can make the strongest impact for his community.
“I want to be of service and make a positive impact on my community,” said Mr. Hunt who shared what he believes is the primary responsibility of a mayor. “The well-being of the town’s citizens.”
Mr. Hunt previously served the City of Grand Junction as an alderman, a position he held for 12 years, from 2010 to 2022. He was recognized in 2022 when he received a plaque showing appreciation for his service.
“My skills and qualities include being a strong leader that has integrity and that is action oriented. I believe listening and working together will make a positive impact on this town,” said Mr. Hunt.
Mr. Hunt is running on a campaign slogan of “A Stronger Grand Junction Tomorrow. Let’s Build It Together.”
He shared comments about how he currently sees Grand Junction and would like to see it in the future.
Grand Junction is doing well at improving public engagement,” said Mr. Hunt. “I would like to see an improvement in economic growth and places for our community to gather for events.”
Mr. Hunt is holding a “Meet & Greet” on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the John Wilder Center Community Center { 122 Tippah Street, Grand Junction, 38039 } at 6 p.m.
