The Middleton Fire Department (MFD) Ladies Auxilliary is holding its annual BBQ Sale on Saturday, November 7, 2026. This is the eighth year the ladies have held the event to raise funds to help a Middleton area family in need.
“This it is all to help a family in our community that may have a need during the holidays or a family that has children that cannot afford to give them a good Christmas. Even if it’s just a hot meal or a family that lost their home and all possessions due to a fire,” said MFD Chief Kevin Marcum, who stressed the proceeds benefit an area family. “The Middleton Fire Department does not in any way benefit from the sale.”
How the Middleton Fire Department does benefit is being able to spend time as a family – interacting with each other and their individual families rather than as a team on an active fire scene. The fire department is a crew of 14 people and everyone contributes their skills and time in some manner.
“We do all the cooking, and we really enjoy it because it helps out our community and neighbors in need. Not one of us fails to join in to get this together. Yes, it takes a lot of time and effort and time away from our lives and what we need to get done for our own lives, but we look at it from the side that there is someone out there in a lot worse shape than us,” said Chief Marcum. “We don’t make a lot doing this so we are limited to how much we can help, but we are willing to do what we can with what we have and that’s why we ask for all the support we can get. We appreciate the support of all that buy the best barbecue in West Tennessee and have ever since we started this journey and hope it grows!”
