Two students from Hardeman County were named first place winners in the Student Art Contest, which is sponsored by the Town of Whiteville. Simone Simmons, a fifth grade student at Whiteville Elementary School, and Addisyn Blanchard, a senior at Bolivar Central High School, both won top honors.
The art contest challenged students to create original artwork based on a theme of choice without the use of logos or words. Public, private, and homeschool students were encouraged to participate.
Addisyn and Simone received prizes of art supplies and a $25 gift card.
